Since 1981, our mission at Calistoga Massage Therapy School has been to offer a comprehensive and affordable education in massage therapy. Our goal is to thoroughly prepare and graduate skilled, compassionate and confident individuals for a successful career in the high demand field of massage therapy.

Our 150 hour Basic Massage Therapy Program is designed to ensure that each graduate will be skilled in the massage technique, Swedish Massage, utilized by most spas.

Our 500 hour Massage Therapist Program is designed to ensure that each graduate gains and can successfully apply the skills and knowledge necessary to qualify as a Certified Massage Therapist, as required by the California Massage Therapy Council.

Calistoga Massage Therapy School Emphasizes:
~ Body Mechanics
~ Business Ethics
~ Individualized Instruction and Feedback
~ Client/Therapist Communication
~ Practice, Practice, Practice

Our programs were developed to protect the physical health and integrity of the massage therapist. This is accomplished by the proper use of body mechanics in the application of massage techniques. These techniques are acquired by hands-on instruction and practice coupled with informative lectures on human anatomy and physiology. Introductory explanations of intuitive healing and energy transfer between practitioner and client are included. Thorough discussions on business practices and ethics prepare students to function professionally in all settings. Our programs are structured to accommodate students with little to no experience and are also ideal for people who have been practicing for some time and are now ready to fulfill state requirements for certification. Instructors work with each student individually and pace each class according to the students’ prior experience and aptitude.

We create a personal, comfortable and effective learning environment that is both fun and challenging. Though there are no written tests, students must perform a hands-on final examination with their instructor. Extensive feedback is exchanged throughout the course to build the confidence and skills required to graduate and to obtain employment and/or develop a private practice upon completion.

An Outstanding

Graduation & Graduation Rate

Upon completion of all clock hours and in-class assignments for each course, the student will receive a final test in the form of giving a pass-fail satisfactory massage to the instructor. This massage final can be repeated as necessary. With the passing of this massage test, a Certificate of Merit will be granted. Graduation rate is over 85%.

Today our graduates work in the North Bay and beyond in spas, private practices, medical settings, corporate on-site, hotels, health clubs cruise ships, salons and more. Students and staff agree that this school is the gateway to a rewarding career in the healing arts.

I have been a client of Calistoga Massage Therapy since October of 2004. As a testament to my continued appointments for 13 years, it goes without saying how pleased I have been with the warm and friendly atmosphere of this facility. Thank you for making my life healthier and reducing the stress of daily life.

Cyndi Stewart

I started going to Calistoga Massage Therapy 6-7 years ago because I was experiencing painful upper back and neck issues. After a few visits with Kat - no more problems! It's impossible to have any stress in your body after a visit. I'm a Calistoga Massage Therapy customer for life. You will be too!

Bob O'Connor

These folks always offer the most thorough and enjoyable massage treatments. They are friendly and helpful, and the prices are affordable. We go as often as we can.

Michael and Deborah

I have been receiving massages from the wonderful therapists at Calistoga Massage Therapy for over 3 years. The prices are very reasonable and I appreciate that even when I receive a massage from a different therapist, the quality of the massage remains the same. I highly recommend their services to anyone.
